Ayodhya Ram Temple Donation Theft: Accused Allegedly Spent Stolen Funds on Wedding, Gifts and Luxury Items
The Ayodhya Ram Temple donation theft investigation has revealed alleged details of how accused Avinash Shukla spent stolen funds on a wedding, luxury gifts, an iPhone, and family expenses. Police are tracing bank transactions, assets, and the financial trail to establish evidence and frame charges.
The alleged spending included a costly iPhone and a lavish wedding celebration, based on an alleged confession linked to Avinash Shukla, one of the eight counting staff members facing charges in connection with the donation theft.
Shukla allegedly made significant revelations during questioning as police continue efforts to trace the financial trail following the theft that has caused widespread concern among devotees.
Although the stolen amount is estimated to be in tens of millions of rupees, Shukla admitted to spending approximately Rs 1.9 million on his family, friends, and himself, sources said.
The alleged expenses included a grand wedding for his brother, for which Shukla reportedly spent around Rs 600,000. He also allegedly gave Rs 500,000 to Rs 600,000 to another brother.
Sources further stated that Shukla gifted an iPhone to his girlfriend and transferred an additional Rs 250,000 to her.
Investigators are now examining the financial transactions, bank accounts, and related assets linked to the accused to establish a clear trail of the stolen funds and gather evidence for framing charges.
The probe into the donation theft at the Ram Temple remains focused on uncovering the complete movement of the stolen money and determining the involvement of those accused in the case.
